Dakota Kimble - Junior Artist

From wild child to family man, Dakota Kimble is an eclectic young creative who lives life in the moment. He embraces the weird and wonder of our existence on this great big space rock we all call home.

Like many his age, Dakota discovered his love of viddy games when he was introduced to Halo as a child. There he would harass his friends by making them repeatedly “player-stack” or “sword cancel” his character until he would glitch out of the map.. Ahh, the nostalgia….

After his days of Red vs Blue, Dakota found himself on G4’s Attack of the Show in a segment called “Break Moments in De-Evolution” where his friends hammered a nail through the skin on his elbow! Naturally, he got a Jackass logo tattooed on his foot to match the experience.

When Dakota wasn’t filling his days with Johnny Knoxville-inspired shenanigans, he was blaring System of a Down or cranking up Electronic music for ravers as a DJ. So if you start to see any Deadmau5 references in our games, you can thank/blame Dakota ;)

Dakota’s interests range from Psychedelics and Psychology to SciFi movies and exploring the great outdoors. Name a movie by Christopher Nolan or Neil Blomkamp and he’s probably seen it. Pickup a book by Graham Hancock and he’s probably read it. Want to take a trip to Burning Man or go on a guide ayahuasca session in the Amazon? Dakota’s your guy!

His other hobbies include making guns in 3D, looking at guns, shooting guns, and doing some target practice with his bow. He loves Sushi Burritos from Paddles Up Poke, and considers himself to be a hot sauce connoisseur.

One day, Dakota started messing around with Maya and discovered the awesomeness of 3D modeling. Suddenly, he knew what he wanted to do with his life. He spent hours teaching himself digital art skills and recently graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelor of Science in Games, Interactive Media and Mobile Technology. He also fell in love, got married, and started a family.

Dakota has now been doing 3D work professionally since 2018. He’s helped create assets for content libraries, government simulations, and even did work on Wasteland 3! We’re happy to have him join the team and help us create all sorts of weird and wonderful art.
