Xbox Patch Released

A new patch for the Xbox version has been released this week.

This patch fixes the very annoying “message prompts bug” that caused annoying system debug messages to suddenly pop-up on screen during gameplay. All Achievements should work now too, but you may have to re-complete the relevant challenges to unlock the broken ones.

Due to the nature of the issue, it’s a rather large download (around 2GB). This isn’t a bunch of new content. It just replaces core files.

v1.0 Launch Date: July 19th

Guts and Glory Launch Day

At last!  I just received final confirmation that Guts and Glory v1.0 will be released on July 19th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Woooooooooooooooooooo!!

I know many of you have been asking about console ports for a long time, and I'm happy to say that the wait is nearly over.  I've dreamed of having a game on a Nintendo since I was a kid, so this is a personal victory for me as well; a check off my bucket list.  Thanks to everyone who has supported this crazy game!

The Guts and Glory Soundtrack will also be released on Steam that day, featuring 32 original compositions.

The 19th is right around the corner.  I was hoping for a longer lead time, but coordinating a multi-platform launch makes this extra difficult, so I hope you'll all help me spread the word about this so we can have an exciting launch day!

Long live Guts and Glorrrrrraay!!

Steam Trading Cards + v1.0 Progress Update

Steam Trading Cards

The G&G Trading Cards have been released!

As you play the game, new cards will be dropped to your inventory.  Trade them with friends or buy/sell them on the Steam Marketplace to complete sets.

Collect all 7 to unlock glorious Badges, Emoticons, and Wallpapers for your Steam Profile.  Each time you collect a full set, you'll level-up to an even better badge and more virtual loot.  Collect the rare foil cards, and you'll unlock the prestigous Winner Takes All badge, featuring John's dismembered head in a glowing, golden trophy.

I made sure to include fun and useful emoticons, like the "Bloodthirsty" one above, and dismembered hands giving the thumbs up.  I hope you all like them.

Happy Collecting!

v1.0 Progress & Console Versions

Version 1.0 will be released soon for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.  At this point, we're just waiting on the manufacturers to get back to us, saying that everything has passed their strict certifications process.  Then I can finally set a release date!

In the meantime, I'm continuing to hunt down some of the more rare bugs and optimizations, as well as working on some miscellaneous stuff such as adding AlienFX lighting.

UPDATE: Sony gave us the thumbs up!  Now we're just waiting on Microsoft and Nintendo.

Guts and Glory v1.0 Progress Update

Work on the huge v1.0 update for Guts and Glory is coming along nicely, and I'm pleased to say that the main content development is now complete.  Things are moving on into the QA Testing, Bug Fixing, and Optimization stages.  This can take a while, but as soon as I have a firm date, I'll be sure to post it everywhere.

The awesome team at tinyBuild has now begun the console porting work too.  I've been getting a ton of the same questions about this lately, so I hope you'll help me spread the word.  The goal is to get Guts and Glory out on PS4, Xbox One, and maybe even the Nintendo Switch sometime this Summer!  PC release might be sooner or at same time, not sure yet.

It's always been a dream of mine to have a game on a Nintendo system, so this would be one big item to check off my Bucket List :D

Community Growth

Thanks to a recent post by UNILAD on Facebook, and the hilarious Let's Play commentary of YouTuber TheRealGMat, the Guts and Glory Community has seen a huge spike in growth lately!  Hell, G&G even made it to the top of page #2 on Steam's Best Seller list this week!

Thank you guys for all the support :D

Thank you guys for all the support :D

This is great news for everyone because it's also caused a nice bump in the creation of Steam Workshop tracks.  There are now over 1,200 levels made by the amazing G&G Community!

The quality of these levels continues to improve as well, as players learn more about the Level Editor.  I can't wait to see what you all make with this once all the new Workshop content releases for v1.0!

Competition is tough at the top!

Guts and Glory has also seen a surge in live streams on Twitch lately too!  This has been really fun to watch, as everyone is starting to get pretty aggressive at competing for World Records on the Steam Leaderboards.

I was even able to drop in on a couple of the live-streams and do a couple giveaways and chat with everyone, which was a lot of fun.  Maybe I'll see you on a Twitch stream in the future!

Guts and Glory OST.jpg

Original Soundtrack Glory

Guts and Glory has over 1 hour of original music.  I've received several requests for an OST download, and I'm happy to say that I've gotten all the licensing stuff ironed out and should be able to put this up on Steam around the same time as the v1.0 launch too!

That's it for now!  Just wanted to give you all a quick update on how things are going, and I look forward to seeing all the custom tracks you make and hilarious videos/streams of Guts and Glory!
